Education and research
In this category, donations are primarily given to universities and other institutes of higher education for the acquisition of apparatus and equipment to be used in research, development and teaching. The extent to which applicant projects are related to Danfoss production and products is taken into account.
As a rule, support is not provided for basic research, with the exception of medical research projects that have reached the clinical test phase and are expected to benefit a large part of the population within the foreseeable future.
Support to primary schools is only provided in local Danfoss areas.

Promotion of Danish cultural efforts at home and abroad
In this category, support is primarily given to museums, local historic societies, art exhibitions, choirs and orchestras in local Danfoss areas in Denmark. When providing support for projects in countries other than Denmark, consideration is given to whether the activity in question is to take place in one or more areas in which Danfoss operates and whether the participating artist, author, etc. is well known in Denmark.

Charitable associations and institutions
This category covers social, humanitarian and environmental fields, and support is primarily given to large national and international organisations. In addition, support is provided for a wide range of national and local patient associations and associations for the disabled. Where local branches of such associations exist, it is chiefly these that receive support.

Other non-profitmaking purposes deemed eligible by the board of directors
This category includes clubs and associations in local Danfoss areas, e.g. sports clubs, athletics associations, scout groups, voluntary fire brigades and pensioner associations.
